A New Year, A New Book!

It’s an exciting time of year!  Not only are the holidays in full swing, but we’re just days away from the official release of The New Lean for Life! And as I look forward to the New Year and all it will bring, I’ve also been reflecting a bit on the past.

Before there was The New Lean for Life, there was Lean for Life. First published in 1997, it has gone on to sell more than a million copies. Judging from the thousands of letters and emails I’ve received over the past 17 years, it accomplished exactly what I hoped it would: it helped a lot of people lose weight, reclaim their health, and change their lives.

Over the past year, when I’ve told friends and colleagues that Dr. Reginald Allouche and I were working on a new and improved version of the book, they were often curious as to how it would be different.

The New Lean For Life includes the very latest science on how the Body, Brain and Gut interact to either help you stay healthy or how they conspire to cause you to stockpile more and more excess fat—depending on the food and activity choices you make.

The neuroscience of the brain and weight loss has been rapidly evolving over the past15 years—and you’ll learn all about it in The New Lean for Life. The gut is really the new frontier of science. It plays host to 10% of your body’s neurons and to the trillions of bacteria that may make it hard to lose weight. We’ve also included some late-breaking research on the gut. It’s very exciting to know that you can really impact your moods, your energy levels and your weight, all by making some simple lifestyle changes.

Most diets focus solely on what to eatThe New Lean for Life teach you why the program works—and how to achieve the safe, rapid weight loss for which the Lean for Life program is known. Every day while on the program, readers will get “The Inside Story from Dr. Allouche”, which provides informative insights and unique perspectives that will forever change the way you think about food and dieting.

Next week, I’ll tell you how a book of cookies led to a meeting that resulted in The New Lean for Life.  In the meantime, I wish you and those you love the happiest of holidays!
