What is NADH?

NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), also known as Coenzyme 1, was the first coenzyme identified by scientists. It helps the body convert blood sugar into energy and because of this, is being explored as a possible treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study done in Europe, 26 patients with chronic fatigue were given NADH. In this study, 31% of those receiving 10 mg. daily after four weeks reported more energy, strength, and endurance. NADH is considered a safe, effective energy supplement though has not been evaluated as a weight loss aid.
