Why do some of the Lean for Life protein products contain sugar?

Sugar is a carbohydrate that comes in several forms. Contrary to popular belief, whether carbohydrates are in the form of sugar as in candy or fructose in fresh fruit is not important in how they are digested or health effects. Sugar does not make people fat or cause hyperactivity. It’s usually the fat in combination with sugar (pastries or ice cream, e.g.) or overeating sugary foods because of the hedonistic (good taste) pleasures people derive that cause weight gain. The Lindora protein bars contain a high ratio of protein to carbohydrate.
