Wear new clothes

Instead of waiting until you reach your final weight goal to purchase a smaller size clothes, do it as you’re losing weight. You don’t have to go out and purchase an expensive new wardrobe, just one or two inexpensive items that fit your new size and lifts your spirits. It’s very motivating to wear something new and you’ll feel great — even though you know you’ll soon have to exchange it for a smaller size!

Wearing smaller-size clothes as your weight goes down also helps your self-image gradually adjust and feel comfortable with your new, leaner weight. Changing your self-image is an important step in being able to maintain your final weight goal.
