Low Carbs versus Calories

The recent popularity of “low carb” eating has resulted in a wide variety of “low carb” foods being offered by fast food restaurants and in stores. If you’re considering including these foods as part of your weight loss program, keep in mind that “calories count”. Just because a food item is low in carbohydrates does not mean it is low in total calories, and consuming more calories than your body can burn will result in it being stored as excess body fat.
