Maintaining Your Fitness Gains

Let’s say you’ve been walking or working out for six months and you’re looking and feeling healthier than ever. Then, for any number of reasons, you find you can no longer devote as much time to physical activity as you had been.

It’s a situation many people find themselves facing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for your aerobic fitness level to begin diminishing. In fact, within five weeks of inactivity, you may very well find yourself at the same fitness level as before you began exercising.

So what does it take to maintain your aerobic gains? You only need to do two 20-minute sessions every week to maintain your fitness level! So no matter how busy your life becomes, make an effort to squeeze in at least two 20 minute sessions of aerobic exercise every week. Your body will thank you!
