One Step at a Time

Cynthia Stamper Graff tells us that she has a friend who has completed every marathon he’s ever entered. His strategy is simple. Focus on the steps, he says, and the miles take care of themselves. If you think about it, that strategy applies in many areas of life. It certainly does with weight loss. Rather than becoming overwhelmed by the 20, 50 or 75 pounds you want to lose, start your journey one step at a time. Try focusing every day on those small decisions you can make that will move you one step closer to a healthy weight. One less soft drink, one more glass of water. One less escalator, one more set of stairs. One less TV show, one more walk around the block. Over time, these seemingly small changes add up to noticeable results. It’s been said that the greatest journey begins with a single step. Why not take a step or two today toward the weight, the body and the health you desire?
